These terms cover your use of the Dew Geyser website and the made-to-measure lingerie commissions that begin on it. The business is run from 1-14-19 Shimojima, Nankoku, Kochi 783-0095, Japan. By using the site, or by placing a commission, you accept the terms as they read on the day you do so.
The site describes how we work, publishes short articles about lace and fit, and lets you start a conversation with us. It is not an online shop. There is no basket and no checkout, and nothing you read here is an offer that can be accepted by clicking. A commission exists only once we have agreed it in writing, as described below.
It starts with your message. We reply with a measurement guide, and once your measurements are back and you have chosen a lace we send a written quote that names the piece or pieces, the lace, the price in Japanese yen and the expected completion date. Work begins when you confirm the quote in writing and pay the deposit. Until then either of us may walk away without cost.
The written quote is the only price that counts. Figures or examples shown on the website are for orientation and do not bind us. We ask for a deposit of 50% of the quoted price to begin work, and the balance is due before the piece ships. Payment is by bank transfer in yen, and the sender pays any bank transfer charge. We do not offer credit or instalments beyond this two-stage arrangement.
You may ask for a card of the current lace colours before you commit. The card costs 1,500 yen and is posted to you. If you go ahead with a commission, that amount is credited against the deposit. If you decide not to order, the 1,500 yen stays with us to cover the card and its postage. The card shows the colours and textures of the seasonal selection beside the year-round whites and blacks, though screens and printers differ, so the card is a better guide than the pictures on the site.
Most pieces take three to four weeks from the point when measurements and lace are both confirmed. Bridal commissions take longer, and we ask for at least six months' notice before the wedding. Dates in a quote are our honest estimate, and if something delays us we tell you as soon as we know. We post within Japan by courier in a plain outer box that shows no branding, and we will quote delivery to other countries on request.
Because every piece is cut to one person's measurements, we cannot accept returns simply because you have changed your mind. We do include one round of adjustments with every order. If a piece does not sit as it should, send it back within three weeks of delivery and we will alter it; the turnaround is usually about a week from the day it reaches us. If a piece arrives with a fault in materials or workmanship, tell us and we will repair or remake it at no charge to you.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under Japanese law.
The fit of a bespoke piece depends on the measurements you give us, so please take them carefully with the guide and tell us if anything felt uncertain. We check your figures against each other before we cut and will ask if something looks unlikely. If an error in the figures supplied makes further alterations necessary, we may charge for work beyond the included round and will tell you the cost before we begin.
You may cancel before we start cutting lace. We then return the deposit, less the sample card fee and any bank or postal charges already incurred. Once cutting has begun, the pattern and the lace are specific to you and the deposit cannot be returned. If we have to cancel, for example because a lace is no longer available, we return everything you have paid.

The text, photographs and layout of this website belong to Dew Geyser except where a page says otherwise. You are welcome to browse, to link to any page, and to quote a short passage with credit. Please do not copy whole articles or photographs elsewhere without asking. Patterns drawn for your commission remain ours, and you own the finished garment.
We try to keep the site accurate, but details such as lead times and seasonal colours change faster than a website is edited, so always rely on what we have agreed in writing. As far as the law allows, Dew Geyser is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the site. Links to other sites are offered as a courtesy, and we do not control what those sites say or do.
How we handle your details is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
We may revise these terms, and a revision applies to commissions agreed after the date shown at the top of the page. A commission already agreed stays on the terms in force on the day of the written quote.
These terms are governed by Japanese law. If a dispute cannot be settled between us, the courts with jurisdiction under Japanese law will decide it, and where an agreement on jurisdiction is permitted, the Kochi District Court is the court of first instance.
